So I was walking down the street the other night just thinking of all the things in my life and I started singing about different ideas that came to mind. My words come out better when put to music. Maybe that's why I like musicals and movies like HSM because the people in them just start singing about whatever is on their mind, just like I do.
Anyways, I was just thinking I do that a lot and that if anyone were to hear me and ask what I was singing, I wouldn't have an answer. I'd have to say something like "a song" and if they asked what it's called I'd have to say "idk it hasn't been written yet" or make up something randomly and hope they don't go try to look it up google LOL.

Somgwritters and their songs
One of my favorate quotes about songwriting is by Micheal McLean. He says something to the effect of how songwriters don't own the songs they write, they just heard them first and find ways to share them with the world (when I can find the exact quote I'll retype it in). I believe this is true. The only reason you have to pay for the songs is so songwriters can keep producing more. Everyone has to make a living somehow.

where do ideas come from?
so I've been thinking lately, (well actually I think a lot anyways) and decided to write the background and ideas from the songs I've written or I'm in the process of writing because a song can mean so much more to you when you know why it was written.
